Character Information:

Personality: Cold, distant and apathetic are words one might use to describe Starkiller at a glance, but how others perceive him isn't a concern for him. Ever since he was a child, abducted from his home, he's been raised to know of no emotion except for anger, taught to give into hatred and weaponize it. Fiercely and naively loyal to Vader, Starkiller does anything he's told without questioning it, which usually involves killing Vader's enemies, which Starkiller does easily with his years of training.

Starkiller is fearless. No matter how dangerous the mission, Starkiller follows through without hesitation, regardless if they're a Jedi Master or a raving lunatic on an acidic trash heap of a planet, Starkiller doesn't stand down when it comes to a challenge. This comes from a mixture of his own confidence in his own abilities and the fact he would never disobey Vader. Not only is his loyalty near unbreakable, he knows Darth Vader is one of the only people superior to him in power. Regardless, he wouldn't dare betray his master.

When it comes to people outside of the Darth Vader bubble, Starkiller generally doesn't have much regard for them. He casually remarks on having lost seven pilots prior, during a conversation with his newest pilot, Juno Eclipse. Those around him are simply pawns as he is, tools to further Darth Vader's goals. If people die during that, it just is what it is to him.

He isn't the talkative sort, usually giving short and blunt responses when it comes to conversing with people. This isn't born out of malice towards people in general, but simply because he's been raised in an environment where the only time he interacts with anyone is because he has to. Much of his time is spent in isolation, meditation and training and no room or desire for socializing. Often, the most animated you'll see him is talking over combat techniques with his training android.

Despite how the death and darkness that surrounds him, Starkiller isn't as twisted as most Sith often are. He doesn't kill for the fun of it, he doesn't play with his opponents. There are no mind games with him. He's simply a weapon and he fulfills his role efficiently. If you stand in his way, he won't hesitate to kill, but the only time he aims to kill are when he's up against specific targets marked by Vader. He doesn't revel in the chaos or destruction he brings. He's detached, following orders as he's told.

On the rare occasions that he allows himself to reflect on his actions, he finds that it leads to him feeling twinges of guilt or pity, at least for some of the more senseless targets he's tasked with killing. he even allows himself to feel pity and remorse for his actions as well as wondering if some of the more pointless kills he enacts are really necessary. When he kills Kazdan Paratus, he feels a little guilty. He also sometimes commits mercy kills, be it living things or droids that are near death and clearly suffering. Starkiller keeps these moments of pity, these weak moments to himself and shuts them out as much as possible. Weakness is not something he can show.

It took getting literally stabbed in the back by Darth Vader for him to finally start questioning the loyalty that had been built up all his life. It was something that caused a lot of confliction for him, fighting between his loyalty and his growing resentment for his master. In the end, his resentment won out and after getting betrayed by Vader a second time, he willingly turned his back on his master. The road to the Light side was a bumpy one, but it helped Starkiller grow as a person and uncover a more compassionate man underneath the hardened exterior. He became someone who spared lives and showed mercy, rather than a weapon of destruction.

Along his journey towards embracing a new destiny for himself, Juno Eclipse is the one who really helped to break through the darkness. Without even meaning for it to happen, Starkiller found himself growing attached to Juno, going to great lengths to save her when Vader had her imprisoned. To him, she was a light that helped him find the right path, often being the voice of empathy when no one else was.

In the end, he's willing to give up his life, both for Juno and for the the rebellion against the forces he was once so fiercely loyal to.

Roleplay Sample:

Consciousness floods back into him and Starkiller sits up, spitting out sand and gasping for air like he's breathing for the first time in his life- which he thinks with the haze of pain spiking through his body must be true. The last thing he remembers is the blazing heat of Darth Vader's lightsaber piercing his body and his hands move instinctively to the site of the wound. Curiously, it's bandaged up and he can tell by moving that it's been attended to by a medical droid since it doesn't hurt nearly as bad as it would otherwise.

Starkiller doesn't sit and dwell on it for long, deciding instead to focus on figuring out where he's ended up. Had a passing ship picked him up and thrown him into the sea? He blinks saltwater out of his eyes and looks out into the distance, seeing the lights of what must be a settlement of some kind.

He starts moving that way, before the sound of a gun cocking behind him makes him freeze.

Before the owner of the gun can get a word out, Starkiller drops low, aiming a kick out behind him that connects with the strangers knee. The shotgun fires and over the ringing in his ears, he hears the man calling out in pain. With one swift maneuver, he stands back up and reaches out to grab hold of the barrel of the shotgun, giving it a heafty yank that throws the stranger off balance and onto the sandy ground.

Starkiller brings the gun up over his head and brings it down with a heavy thud onto the stranger's head, knocking him out.

"Locals are... hostile, apparently," he says to himself, squatting down to see if the man has anything on him. A currency he isn't familiar with, an identification indicating he's no one of importance and a picture of he and his family. Starkiller furrows his brows and drops the wallet down next to the man before checking his pulse to make sure he's still breathing. "If you intend on going back to your family, I don't suggest you pick fights you can't win." He gives the man a nudge with his foot, before turning back to the lights in the distance. Starkiller sets off, swinging his newly acquired weapon over his shoulder, leaving the man to groggily stammer to his feet behind him.
