Hello - this is how one contacts a person directly, out of sight of those who peruse the common network. It's called a 'private channel', if I recall.

Regarding a weapon, I feel you may once again need to be more specific. I've recently learned of firearms, and that they're quite common where some here have come from. Within my own realm, most wielded swords.

The best answer regardless of what form of weapon is likely to consult Mana on the matter - she operates beyond the purview of any particular god, and is capable of offering a great many things that elude this world otherwise. In exchange, she asks only for tokens. You'll find these tokens throughout your time here. (All of which surely raises further questions, but little is known of Mana's workings and you certainly aren't here for my wild speculation.)

If a sword or something like it would be sufficient, there is a swordsmith - Tsukikage - who does fine work.

Regarding areas which should be avoided, the first to mind is the town of Dyster. The fog weighs heavily there, and by my understanding it's somewhat dangerous for those not affiliated with the Fog God.

I also recommend caution in the town of Kulen, should the monstrous form you take be visibly inhuman. Kulen's residents are, understandably, quite wary of us.

And while this may be difficult, since most of the free lodgings offered to new arrivals are within the city, but I recommend steering clear of Bavan at any sign of the fog. All manner of dangerous, mind-altering circumstances come with the fog, and most hit Bavan quite a bit harder than anywhere else on the peninsula.

Regarding public citizens of note, I admit that my insight is limited by the short few months that I've spent here so far, but -

The man called Javert, for one. A lawman for those like us, and possessing of some manner of prison, by my understanding. Some see his choices as overly drastic. More concerningly, he speaks with bold eloquence in unwavering support of the Fog God, in a way which those new to this land might be compelled to follow blindly.

The man called Rafe is another - he has done little specifically of note beyond the formation of a committee to come to consensus on how larger-scale matters should be handle. Little has come of it yet, but I've seen no other proper political machination in my time here, so it seemed worthy of mention.

A man who goes by 'Hawkeye' runs a public clinic for those like us. He seems to be somewhat of a public figure, though I myself have had no interaction with him.

Relevant to more recent events - in the month prior to this one, two individuals attempted to remove the Fourth God's power and return it to the Fog God, from whom it was originally stolen. One was a Fog Priest by the name of Fiddleford. The other, a man who supposedly rallied against the Fog God, before that point - Obi-Wan Kenobi. It isn't yet known if the Fourth God's brief loss of power has any lasting effects. If it does, now you've been given context.

That's all which comes to mind. If you have further questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

( ....but a minute or so later, likely while the last message is still being read, )

Forgive me, I realize now that I've yet to introduce myself.

My name is Xiao Xingchen. Just 'Xingchen' is fine.
